It's Been Awhile

Well...It's been awhile since I posted. School started as did the mania! Evelyn started 1 st grade. Her teacher is wonderful and she seems to really like it. However, we have homework! I did not know that I would be redoing 1st grade again!!! And I have 2 more kiddos to go.

Drew starts school in 2 weeks. I did not get into Evelyn's school so he is going to do pre-k at Stepping Stones. He will go 5 days a week in the am. He is really excited and I am happy that he is. He never really is as enthused about school as Evelyn is. We attend a co-op preschool so Kate and I will aid one day a week there. It's free to bring her and she really likes it!

I worked all weekend. Man I am getting old! Working 2 12 hr. shifts really wipes me out. The first day I wasn't very busy but Sun. I was hopping and the day just flew bye...which I really like. I really need to get working on fixing this blog up and letting people know about it!

Well that's it for now....till next time

Homecoming

My husband came home last night and let me tell you we were all so excited to see him. The kids jumped all over him and I gave him a big hug and kiss. I am proud of myself. I made it 3 days all by myself with no help. Don't let me fool you it was ALOT of work and I have much respect for single mommies. The best part was that I was able to get a good nights sleep. I do not sleep well when he is gone. Also, the house 2 doors down was recently burglerized during broad daylight. So I was slightly uneasy.
Well tomorrow is Sat. and that means back to work for mommy. I dread and like going to work on the weekends. I get a break from the kids but my job is very stressful. I do however get to go to the bathroom by myself:) Getting bothered during lunch does occasionally happen and I HAVE to attend to the issue. I work in a old hospital. It was built in the 1970's amd shows it s age but I really do like working there. The things that I have seen you would not believe. It does give me prospective and I am very thankful for my health and my family's health. I work float pool so I usually do not know where I will be working until I get there.
So I have a new "thing" that I want to learn. Photography! We bought a new camera and the memory card finally arrived. This camera has many buttons and I really want to learn them. You will probably see furture posts about my trials and tribulations with my camera. Also hope to post some pics. soon.
Well, time for swimming with the family. Till next time...

Day 2

I woke up today and thought..what the heck am I going to do with the kids today? Well, actually the first thing that popped into my head was what's for dinner? If you would have told me years ago that my first morning thought would have been what's for dinner I would have laughed at you:) I decided breakfast and then thought... how about the Children's Museum?

Before we could go and before I told the gang my idea we had to take Kate to swimming class. It's a mommy and me type of class. She is starting to do better and not cry the entire class. I cancelled her class about a month and a half ago and then you know what happened? She stopped crying and starting enjoying class...and of course the instructer knew that I pulled her and she gave me that look and told me that in her opionion that was not a good idea.

Well, what I said and what I thought were 2 very different things. What I said " you are right and I have noticed that she is really beginning to enjoy class (after 5 flippin' months) so I think we will stay in." My personal thought...look lady this class is expensive and for that past 5 mo she's been screaming in my ear and I see no real progress! So we stayed and she is doing good...for the most part.

The Childrens Museum went well. We went after lunch. We stayed for about 2 hrs and headed out to avoid traffic. Thank Goodness for the car pool lane!! It was a balmy 112 degrees today so indoor activity was a must. It was very busy when we arrived but thinned out after about an hour. Everyone was tired and we all rested when we got home.

My hubby is away on business this week. Thank Goodness we got a new movie in the mail today the kids have been waiting for. Makes the night go smoothly. Movie, shower, bed and mom to get a free moment. My neighbor has decided to come drink some wine with me this evening. 2 moms sitting on the patio talking about our day. Good way to end the day. Though I do miss my honey:)

New Endevor

So I have been thinking a lot about starting a blog and this afternoon I decided to sit down and figure out how to do this. Of course I googled it, doesn't everyone google now a days?
So one of the sites I clicked on asked several questions and one of them that struck me was WHY start a blog? I thought about this for a while as did my friend when she called and asked what I was doing. My reason...to write a journal about my family and my thoughts and feeling about being a mother. Yep, that's it. Nothing fancy. No causes to fight or battles to wage. Being a mother is all of those rolled into one. As is being a wife sometimes...Love you honey:)

So here I go on my journey. I am not very good with computers but I figured this out with no help from my very computer literate husband.

So the Sattre party of five started with my husband and I. We then added Evelyn (6) to the mix. Then along came Drew (5) and a surprise visit by Kate(2). We are midwesterns at heart and live in the desert southwest. Yes, if you saw my weather gadget, it's a chilly 110 or so. We love it and that is probably because we have pool and use it very frequently. I stay home during the week and an ICU nurse on the weekends. My hubby works full time as an engineer for a medical device company and on the weekends he is Mr. Mom. I think he is secretly sad to go back to work on Monday.

So that's it! For now. Time to go and enjoy a glass of wine.
